Radio Kerry’s famous Terrace Talk Show with Weeshie Fogarty will be broadcasting LIVE from P.F. Mc Carthy’s Bar on Monday the 28^th of June from 6pm til 8pm.

Weeshie Fogarty has been in conversation with well known people and more importantly with guests who if not for the programme would never have the opportunity to air their views. Politicians, musicians, sportsmen and women, artists, painters, writers are among the many.

Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan

Thursday July 15^th – Sunday July 18^th

It’s the 50^th anniversary of the Munster Fleadh Cheoil and this year Kenmare has been selected to host this great event.  The Fleadh Cheoil (Festival of Music) is an Irish Music Competition run by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann who are involved in the promotion of traditional Irish music and culture around the world.  Together with local councils and committees they are able to put together this fantastic event.

The Munster Fleadh comprises of counties Kerry, Clare, Limerick, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford. These four days will see great performances of traditional Irish music and dance, impromptu sessions, competitions and workshops all around the town.  We promise to see a selection of indoor and outdoor concerts, set and céilí dancing, as well as pub and street sessions.

Kenmare (Neidín in Irish) translates to mean the “little nest” and is located in Kerry between the Cork and Kerry Mountains where the Roughty River meets Kenmare Bay.  It is an ideal base for exploring both the rugged and wild peninsulas of Beara and Kerry and has a wide range of shops, bars, and restaurants bringing together a vibrant little town.  We last hosted the Fleadh in 2008, the natural beauty and tranquillity of the area lending itself gracefully to visitors from home and abroad.

P.F. McCarthy’s, the home of music in Kenmare, will naturally be at the hub of this event so come in and get into the spirit with a local pint of Kenmare Beer, or enjoy some great food at competitive prices, superior service from the friendly staff, and soak up some world class music at the Munster Fleadh Cheoil.  An opportunity not to be missed!
