Pf McCarthys  has been in existence in kenmare since …….providing a place of rest relaxation and entertainment to its visitors. It originally traded as the failte bar and was run by the Mc Carthy family…………. It was  passed down through the generations until in the year 2000 it was taken over by flor and Maureen mccarthys daughter  margret. She renovated the bar into its present incarnation and renamed it Pf McCarthys.

She ran it successfully for three years building up a thriving food and drink business .In 2005 the mantle was passed on to Paul and Breda Walsh. Paul and Breda  have both lived and worked in Kenmare since mid 1990s garnering experience in many establishments in the town, namely the Park hotel, Kenmare Bay hotel and the Horseshoe bar and restaurant. Paul is a qualified hotel manager and has many years experience in this field of work. Breda trained and qualified as a chef and has worked in many top establishments both at home and abroad. Having travelled and worked abroad together paul and breda came back to kenmare in 2000 and decide dto set down roots there.

 Once they took over McCarthys in 2006 they endeavoured to maintain the high standards set by their predecessors whilst adding their own touch and personality to the business. They extended the menu and food serving times to appeal to a wider range of people. They  focus on sourcing their produce locally as much as possible using local food producers

 Hello and thank you for coming onto our Pf Mccarthy web site. We hope you enjoy browsing through it and that you find something of interest to you. We have been running Pf’s , as it is known to the locals, for nearly four years now and hope we are getting the hang of it. Having listened to the many informed, and some not so informed, opinions throughout the past few years we feel that we have put together a mix of food , selection of drinks and entertainment that will appeal to everyone at some time.

 So whether you are looking for somewhere to go to share a coffee and scone or brownie in the morning, or maybe you need a full fry up, perhaps you want meet the gang for lunch, maybe it is a glass of wine and some small bites after work, maybe you want to treat your other half to a special meal and night out, or you all just want meet up for some drinks and the best live music on offer, whatever it is you will find it in Pf’s. and  you will always be guaranteed to meet some like minded people there.
